Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was reportedly set to star in a film written by Siddharth-Garima, based on the subject of surrogacy. Early this year, reports claimed that the actress had a creative discussion with the makers and even “liked” the idea, but, agreed to confirm her involvement only once the script was re-written.
According to the latest reports, the former beauty queen has finally decided to turn down the project, citing “several loopholes” in the script. Although the basic idea was strong, the report states that the actress pointed out many problems with the story. The writers allegedly approached her with a fresh script, but Ash felt that she couldn’t relate to it anymore.
Filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh, who was backing the film has also admitted that the film has now been put on hold as the writers are currently busy with other commitments.

Late last year, it was revealed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will star in a film based on the subject of surrogacy. Reports had stated that the actress had a creative discussion with the makers and even “liked” the idea. However, it was alleged that she later only agreed to confirm her involvement once the script was re-written.
The latest on this project hints that the film has been put on hold. According to the film’s producer, things were going downhill from the start as the actors were announced even before the script was ready. The film, which was set to mark the directorial debut of writer duo Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal, later got pushed as the two got busy with another social-drama ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. Hence, the report claims that ‘Jasmine’ will not happen in the near future.
This news comes amidst reports that claim Karan Johar’s next ‘Good News’ will be based on a similar subject.

When a daily asked Umesh about the same the director said that the film is not happening now. He revealed that he was supposed to get the rights of the film through courier but that did not happen and hence they could not work on the film.
The director further added that he is still in good terms with Sanjay Dutt and if he finds something good to work with the actor then he will connect with him.
On the work front, Sanjay Dutt is currently shooting for ‘Torbaaz’ in Kyrgyzstan. The film is set in Afghanistan and deals with the subject of young recruits who are roped in the army, with promises of glory, awaiting them in their afterlife for their courageous acts. ‘Torbaaz’ is directed by Girish Malik and also features Nargis Fakhri, Rahul Dev and Rahul Mittra in pivotal roles.
